Welcome to TLC Academy
Thank you for your interest in The Learning Coop Academy. We partner with families who value an education that supports the whole child. Our goal is to help each student discover their unique strengths and grow with confidence.
We care about your child’s growth — academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. By working closely with families and the broader community, we aim to provide a strong foundation that supports students both in the classroom and in life.
Admissions Criteria
Joining the Learning Coop Family
We welcome students who are five years old and enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade. To ensure a smooth transition and personalized learning experience, we'll conduct some initial assessments before your child begins attending. We also ask that parents share any relevant information about their child's academic and behavioral needs, as well as any previous conduct infractions. This helps us create a supportive and successful learning environment for everyone.

Additionally, you must agree to our Statement of Faith, and agree to all items in our 2026-2027 Handbook.

We welcome students who are five years old or enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade

To personalize your child's learning experience, our staff will conduct a brief assessment before they start attending.
Previous School Information
We ask parents to share any relevant details about their child's academic and behavioral needs from previous educational experiences.
Conduct History
To maintain a positive learning environment, we ask parents to disclose any conduct infractions that occurred at current or previous schools.

3) Apply to TLC Academy on our website
4) Enroll by May 1st and pay your enrollment fee of $500 to secure your spot

We partner with families who are seeking a values-based education where students are known, supported, and encouraged to discover their unique strengths and gifts.

Because The Learning Coop intentionally operates with very small learning groups, enrollment is limited and openings may not always be immediately available. When a learning group is full, students may be placed in a wait pool and families will be contacted as soon as a spot becomes available.

To be considered for enrollment, new families and students should follow the outlined process.

Families will be asked to submit required Iowa Medical Forms, authorization of records request (for new transfer students) and additional student and family information.
Iowa law requires students to provide necessary forms prior to the first day of school. Below are listed the ages and forms required. New students to The Learning Coop are required to provide all previously required forms in addition to their grade level.

Iowa forms must be used for those joining The Learning Coop Academy from out-of-state.
